A few other helpful reminders:
- Field trip attendee? Everyone will have had a email sent with final details by today for all trips.
- Presenter or workshop facilitator? Use the upload link on the Presenter Info page to provide your visual content to the audiovisual team. A support desk will also be available at the Symposium to assist .
- Familarise yourself with the Event Code of Conduct
- Early name badge pick up is possible between 1-5pm Monday afternoon at Tākina Convention & Exhibition Centre (level 1). Or from 8.30am for those attending pre-symposium workshops.
- All registered delegates are welcome at the Icebreaker on Monday evening from 5.30pm at St Johns Eatery.

The 6th International Symposium on the Ocean in a High-CO₂ World
Moving from Understanding to Action using Multiple Knowledge Systems
Held in Wellington, New Zealand, at Tākina Convention & Exhibition Centre. Ocean Ecosystems
In conjunction with the BMC journal Ocean Ecosystems, there will be a Collection of articles that focus on the impacts of high CO₂ and climate change drivers on marine ecosystems and organisms that celebrates the research presented at the symposium and beyond.
Submission deadline: 15 March 2027
About the Symposium
Ocean acidification remains a central theme of the symposium series. This edition will also expand to consider other ocean climate impacts, such as ocean warming and deoxygenation, particularly in a multiple-driver context. Research on marine carbon dioxide removal interventions, which are suggested to mitigate climate change and ocean acidification, will also be a key part of the conference.

Workshops, Meetings & Training
There are over 22 free workshops covering a wide range of topics, including marine carbon dioxide removal (mCDR), learning across knowledge systems, policy engagement, integrating ocean carbon observations and models, experimental design, and biodiversity in a changing ocean. Space in many workshops is limited, so make sure to sign up when you register.
