A limited number of travel and registration grants are available to support attendance at the symposium, helping to broaden participation and enable inclusive engagement from across the community. At present, one grant opportunity has been confirmed, with additional funding options to be advertised here as they become available.
We encourage all eligible participants to check this page regularly for updates and application details as new grants are announced.
Important reminder: All presenters are required to register for the symposium by the early bird deadline of 1 August. Eligibility for grant support does not replace the requirement to complete registration within this timeframe.
Application for Ocean Connector, SCOR and IOC Funding
A limited number of travel and registration grants are available to support attendance at the symposium for up to five early-career researchers from Small Island Developing States (SIDS) and Least Developed Countries (LDCs).
Apply by July 10, 2026. Selected participants will receive funding to cover registration and travel costs associated with conference. Flight booking/payment receipt and visa application confirmation will need to be provided before travel funds can be reimbursed.
The Ocean Foundation’s EquiSea Initiative
The Ocean Foundation’s EquiSea Initiative is convening a cohort of scientific researchers to participate in mCDR capacity-building workshops and attend the Ocean in a High-CO₂ World Symposium in Wellington, New Zealand.
Apply by July 15, 2026 to join EquiSea’s mCDR cohort and attend the symposium. Selected participants will receive funding to cover travel costs associated with conference and side-event attendance.
